A Chattanooga man has been indicted on federal drug charges for incidents in June and December of 2023.
A Grand Jury charges Malik Phillips with knowingly and intentionally possessing a mixture containing fentanyl with the intent to distribute on or around June 30 of 2023.
Also in June of 2023, Phillips is charged with possessing ammunition knowing he was not allowed to because of previously being convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one year.
He is also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on or around December 31 of 2023. During that same incident Phillips was charged with possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
Local 3 News has previously covered Malik Phillips in other instances.
Phillips was one of the 14 people charged with either introduction of contraband into a penal facility or conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal facility.Â
Phillips also faced federal charges in 2016 where he pleaded guilty. His release was revoked for violating terms. Those charges were similar to the ones he faces today.Â
