UPDATE (1/24/24 7:00 am):
The repairs on the main breaks which occurred on Tuesday affecting the Lookout Valley and St. Elmo areas have been completed and water has been restored throughout the night.
A few streets on higher elevations could still experience low water pressure this morning but this is temporary.
If impacted customers experience discolored water from air, they should run a COLD tap for a few minutes until it runs clear.
Tennessee American Water wanted to thank residents for their understanding, while they safely completed the repairs.

In a statement to Local 3 News, Tennessee American Water confirmed two water line breaks, telling us over 3,700 area residents are still being impacted since this morning.
"When temperatures swing widely from freezing to warmer in a short period of time, additional main breaks are anticipated. We currently have two main breaks that serve our pump station and water tanks that serve our customers in Lookout Valley and St. Elmo areas. Customers in the impacted area may be experiencing low to no water pressure. We sent an alert to over 3700 customers in the impacted area this morning which includes a map of the area.
We are working safely and as quickly as possible to complete the repairs which we anticipate being completed early this evening. Once repaired, it will take additional time for water service to be completely restored as we will need to turn valves back on, run fire hydrants to relieve air that has built up, and refill the impacted water tanks.
We appreciate customers’ patience as we work to resolve the issue."
