A homeowner in North Georgia raised complaints against Ameri-Gas Propane, claiming the company hadn't completed his propane order for weeks.
Charles Topping had been ordering gas from AmeriGas Propane for years without any issues until he contacted them in early January to report that his propane tank was running low.
He says that each time he reached out, he was met with an automated message assuring him that someone would come out and he would be placed on a list.
"I was told I'd be put on an emergency list," he said. "I was going to get my gas in 24 hours, guaranteed, and I didn't get it."
The family had to get creative when freezing temperatures arrived because they had no heating for gas and water.
Local 3 on Your Side contacted AmeriGas Propane to investigate Topping's claims.
A spokesperson told our news team that they had some challenges reaching the Topping's tank.
The company mentioned that due to recent weather events, they are behind in some service areas and working extended hours to get caught up.
Since our investigation, a representative from the company has refilled his propane tank.
Topping confirmed the delivery around 7:00 pm on Thursday.
He says he is grateful to have his propane tank refilled.
