SISKIN retirement

The President and CEO of Siskin Children's Institute, Derek Bullard, has announced his retirement.

Bullard first took the role in 2018, when the number of children served annually was 2,500. In 2023, Siskin served 7,000 children annually.

Under his leadership, Siskin was able to open a second developmental behavioral clinic in Nashville and launch two therapy programs.

In September of 2023, Siskin Early Learning Center closed. Bullard announced a month prior that they were closing facilities due to the pandemic, rising inflation, and staffing challenges.

The families worked hard to try and keep the centers open.

Siskin was founded in 1950 in Chattanooga, and has worked for more than 70 years with the mission to "improve the quality of life for children with special needs and their families."

He says he looks forward to spending time with his family and continuing his service with other non-profits.

Siskin says a board of directors has assembled a search committee for his replacement.
